Horizon 250w 160m/10m End Fed Wire Antenna

$185.00

The 160m/10m 6 band End Fed  wire antenna designed to permit operation on the 160m 80m, 40m, 20m 15m and 10m amateur DX bands. The antenna is ideal for local communications within 1000-2000 km of your location or for DX depending on how high the antenna is mounted and in what configuration. If you're new to the HF bands and want to try a bit of local rag chewing, why not experiment with this antenna first. Alternatively, when the antenna is mounted at height, and well in the clear, this antenna will permit DX contacts to be made.

  • For the size, weight and cost, we simply do not think there is a better performing antenna when the user is limited to a single or wire type antenna. Multi-band, high performance with utmost simplicity and ease of use. You will not be disappointed.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Operating bands 10, 15, 20 40m, 80m and 160m  (Use a tuner on 30/17/12)

  • Max Operating power 250W PEP SSB, 125W Digital continuous operation

  • Typical impedance 40 ohm - 60 ohm (depending on installation height and configuration)

  • Gain 0.0

  • VSWR 1.5:1 (typical)

  • Total length  23m

ANTENNA  DESIGN AND COMPONENTS

  • The 160/10 End Fed is one of the most simple yet effective multi-frequency antennas. Light weight but strong multi-stranded stainless steel wire is used for longevity.

  • A 49:1 balun is used. The balun also provides the necessary impedance ratio transformation to permit low VSWR over the frequency bands of operation. The balun is supplied with this antenna.
